How are you guys flashing your custom kernels on your mk808b? I try replacing the kernel in Finless 1.7 ROM and run the flash tool but I don't boot successfully? I'm wondering if my kernel is the problem or the flashing method.

The last working finless ROM is 1.5, the 1.7 is only for mk808

Anyway, you have to replace recovery and, once flashed and booted to Android, issue these commands through a terminal emulator:
su
reboot recovery

You'll have to issue these commands every time your device (re)boots.
MK808 as server, waiting for full Mali-400 support
Minix X7 arriving home mid September to bring it full linux support :)

What sources are you using to download the packages. I get error (not available or no installation client) with the ubuntu 12.04 LTS I386 install
