Hi, I've been having some issues with a new MK808.

MK808, Finless 1.5a ROM
Edimax EW-7811Un // rtl8192us chipset
The USB dongle is plugged into a powered USB hub.

I've tried both rainlake's (page 1) & a.alekizoglou's (page 8) drivers

Method: copy rtl8192cu.ko to /system/lib/modules/ and changed permissions.
Turn WiFi off
Run Android Terminal Emulator
Type 'SU' to enable superuser.
Type 'rmmod /system/lib/modules/rkwifi.ko' to verify it's been deactivated.
Type 'insmod /system/lib/modules/rtl8192cu.ko' (No errors reported. The prompt keeps cycling over and over again until I type something)
Turn WiFi on & system locks up and crashes

The MK808 is replacing an iMito MX1 (fragile usb ports broke) I was able to use the above steps to get it to work on the MX1, but when I try them on the MK808 it either crashes when I turn WiFi on, or WiFi toggling does nothing.

Any suggestions?

Read and read again this topic ... It's a USB WiFi adapter working immediately after plugin into MK808 ? Without modifying anything ?
I would be grateful for some example ! Regards !

Okay I managed to compile the driver, there are problems with the driver. Whenever my device starts by booting this driver, while I have inserted the USB WiFi (using the rt5370 device), the device reboots and reboots.

I think there is somewhere a problem with memory allocation or the memory buffer get's full, however I have managed sporadically that the GUI communicates with the nl80211 driver.

I am really fed-up with this ralink drivers.

I will compile the rt2x00 from the compat-wireless, those are better than the sources that ralink provides.

It depends if the android stick has the same kernel (version) or not.

This is what I've bought http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/deta ... =TL-WN723N
The device's ID is 0BDA:8176 REV_0200

The problem with rtl8192cu.ko driver was that in autoconf.g the line for CONFIG_IOCTL_CFG80211 is remarked. Therefore ioctl is not build with the driver. So I removed the remark and rebuild the driver. It is now working for my device according to the instructions rainlake has provided. That is:

1) copy rtl8192cu.ko to /system/lib/modules after you have mounted with rw (I usually run ESexplorer with root options)
2) rename /system/lib/modules/rkwifi.ko -> /system/lib/modules/rkwifi.ko.old in case you need that later
3) rename /system/lib/modules/rtl8192cu.ko -> /system/lib/modules/rkwifi.ko
4) fix permitions, I do that from terminal, but I think you can do that from ESExplorer as well
chmod go+r /system/lib/modules/rtl8192cu.ko
chown root:root /system/lib/modules/rtl8192cu.ko

So I include the driver in case someone else with RTL8188CUS chipset wants to check.

So I am good until step 4. Sorry for the silly questions but how am I fixing permissions on the file "rtl8192cu.ko" when it was renamed in step 3? IS this a typo or am I missing something.

Hi rainlake,

I have a Thomson WLG-1500A with a SIS 163 chipset.
Is there a possibility of making driver for this one?

ID 0457:0163 Silicon Integrated Systems Corp 802.11 Wireless Lan Adapter

I have broken my antenna, so this will be great.

The driver can be downloaded there: (in network driver, 160 series)
http://w3.sis.com/download/

I have the driver, but i don't know how to attach an entire folder on this board

Thanks,

Would love to get the bottom of the

Current wifi chip is xxxx

I'm trying a new kernel out with NO WIFI. Just to see wtf happens when I press the wifi button. I see in the realtek sources they have something that will build a wifi.ko module that will work with the new drivers but this is such a convoluted process and I'm luck I got as far as I have.

Hi my builtin wifi is very bad in my MK808 so if some1 could help me wiyh the driver and how I shall do to make it work I would be very happy and I can pay if somebody is willing to waste some time on me.
My adapter is konig http://www.konigelectronic.com/en_us/1118052 driver is on the same page under download. The chip seems to be RTL8192su if I look in the manual. So if someone could tell me what to do or write an step by step guide I would be very happy.
Thank you.
