Try another USB cable, a quality one, like the ones provided by well known mobile brands.
I was having the same issue, but after using a cable from the Nokia N70 the OS recognized it.

I have the save problem, my Win PC did not see MK808 when connected so

How did you get your Windows PC to recognize MK808?
How did you connect them?
Which port were you use in MK808?

Thank you for your help !

Here's what you have to do to get this working in Windows 8. NOTE read all the instructions first, because you need to reboot in the middle of the steps.

1. Go to the stupid metro start screen.
2. Hover your mouse in the bottom right until the hidden icons appear.
3. Click Settings.
4. On the settings panel, click "Change PC Settings" at the bottom.
5. Click the "General" heading.
6. Scroll to the bottom and click "Restart Now" under the Advanced Startup. Your PC will reboot.
7. When it restarts, it will prompt you with a menu. Click "Troubleshoot".
8. Click "Advanced Options".
9. Click "Startup Settings".
10. Click "Restart". Yes, you have to restart AGAIN.
11. After it restarts, a new boot menu will appear. Type the number that corresponds with "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement". I think it was number 7, if I remember correctly.
12. Windows will now load. Once it has done so, plug in your device. It may or may not automatically detect. If it doesn't, from the desktop hover your mouse over the bottom left corner and Right click.
13. Choose "Device Manager" from that menu.
14. From the device manager you will now be able to install the drivers for the device.

For me with Win7 X64, USB connector on the front of my PC would not work. I unplugged printer and used the USB connector on the back of the PC. (Maybe I had too many USB devices (5) connected to PC, or I had USB device software conflict, I don't know). Also, on Win7, Win8, use F8 during boot to select "Do not verify Driver Signature.
