@wings: not out of the box. Tried with the ICS and all released Jelly Bean Versions.

I used the compiled module from deadhp1 and loaded it sucessfully (tried with JB from released at 03.11), but the problem persists. I Switch LAN on and some seconds later the switch jumps back to off. I thought it was, because missing network module, but it does not helped. So no LAN at moment. When I have time I will try to install the module in the newest firmware release (28.11.2012). Tried cyanogenmod too, but the same ....

@salundy This is not an official release from factory, so it has possible not the offered features from geekbuying. From geekbuying blog.
Big Thanks to my US Friend, we are finally working out a real 1080p firmware for MK808, here is the firmware download link:

He has compiled the kernel with /proc/config.gz support. Will have a look if he has compiled modules for webcam-support and which ones.

Regards
Robert

with the newest firmware version (1080p one). I installed the compiled module from deadhp1 and after that the network switch stays on.

After reboot i need at moment to load the module manually again. But I'am happy that it works.

Output from dmesg:

When yet the Access-Point Part from the mk808 Stick works it would be a great. Wanted to use the Stick for (Internet)-Streaming and AP for my PC/Mobile.

At moment the stick get no ip. The cablemodem saves the mac from the connected device. need to power of the modem over night to be able to use another device.

Good Night wishes

@hrodeberht

Same result here with latest mk808 1080p in Finless 1,7 UG802.

Cable modem/router gives no connecting information but
the network led lamp on router is on so i'm certain the usb dongle tries to connect:

When i power the usb ethernet/usb from 5v and connect to the router,
ethernet/usb led is on, and router rj45 led is off.
When connected between mk808 otg and router rj45, led on router is on.

Typing dmseg in terminal gave same lines as yours, among others.
Maybe someday somewhere someone ...
Meanwhile, wi-fi and paper clip antenna do a decent job.

Good afternoon

I have rotation issue with my Google Play Music, some time it doesn't rotate to the landscape mode.
It look like portrait mode that stretch to landscape view...it look weird & the setting option is missing.
Sometime it work perfectly, someone don't..

Any one have the same issue? & how can I force it to be in landscape?

I have been using the Finless 1.4 Rom but haven't upgraded because of the resolution change. People had issues with the 1024x720 resolution but my on Samsung 50" Plasma it manages to fill the screen whereas the 1280x672 doesn't. What I want to know, is there any way to change the resolution on the Finless 1.5a firmware so I can change it to 1024x720?
Cheers

I also know the problem after you guys report, and after long time research, i find now all of the tv stick in market have this problem, see it is the problem for rockchip, and as far as i know, now the NEO G4 factory are working on this, they said on the end of Nov, they will release an android 4.1 update, and which can support real 1080p, and once there is one factory fix the problem, all of the other factory can copy this, and update on their device, we will see it.
thanks!

Hi everyone,

it seems to me that there are 2 different wireless issues:

- the hardware one, which gets fixed by extending the wires;
- and a software one, the limit to 65 mbps in the conf files in /sys/modules/cfg blah blah

Lucky me, I dont have a hw problem, link speed is stable to 65 mbps, was anyone able to fix the sw problem and break through to 100ish mbps ?

Thanks and apologies if it was answered in a previous post that I might have missed.

I have a error when I run Google Play Store:
"Error retrieving information from the server. [RH-01]"

Just tried this, but to no success:
"Open the" Google Play "app and press the home button to return
Go to Settings → Applications → Manage Applications
Select the "ALL" tab, search for "Google Play Store" and press it to open.
Press "Clear cache"
Press "Force Stop"
Return to Settings → Applications → Manage Applications
Press the "Google Services Framework"
Press "Clear Data"
Press "Force Stop"
Start "Google Play Store" and it should give an error
Reboot.

Once your device has restarted Google Play Store should work. Wait a minute or too if it does not.
This should help if a corrupt cache is the cause of your problems (a corrupt cache might lead to strange error messages, amongst others). If it does not help, you might try the same steps but include "Clear Data" for the playstore app. "

When I click on the blue icon "Google" then we will report an error "Network Error ..."??
Date, time and regional settings are fine.
Other applications (YouTube, Gmail ...) work without problems.

Please help :(

Dear Members,

I tested wifi speed problem on MK808. Test AP is Mikrotik AP(professional wifi solution)

I have concluded that the linux kernel driver problem.

Check AP screenshot.

MK808 wifi only use one chain, and sync only 802.11g rates (max. 54Mbit/s)

best regards Attila

Maybe you can try this step
1 Changelog:
a Change the CPU frequency to 1.6Ghz, (tested by antutu benchmark)
b fix the Screen Rotation in apps problem;
c Move back the ” enable ADB option” choice
d Improve the wifi signal better;

You also need to download the USB driver and the flash tools here:

Firmware update guide:
Step 1: Download all the file from the link i attach, you will get 3 files, one is the firmware with *.IMG formate, the other are two compressed files.
Step 2: Decompress that two files, you will get two folder, one name is “RockusbDriver”,this is the USB driver for MK808, there are different version (win7,win xp,win vista), please choose the correct one when you install the driver; the other folder name is” 量产工具1.5″ this is the flash tool;

Step 3: Connect your MK808 mini pc with your computer, and install the driver:
here is very important, please find a clip, and insert it into the hole ( i mark the hole with the red circle, check following photo)

A suggestion for your wifi problems:

Remove the app ehomemediacenter from system/app

Disable rkupdate from settings.

Restart you router, and test the network. Ehomemediacenter send strange broadcast packets that make crazy your router.

Return to “MK808”
