How are you using your MK808?

Postby mux » Tue Oct 23, 2012 4:53 pm

Just started looking at these and was thinking the UG802 was the way to go as I want to use for monitoring iP cam systems on tv monitors. Looks like there might be more / or not with the MK808 (is the MK808+ any different???)

I am wondering how you are using these nifty little devices?

Hello

How are you using your MK808?

1 - to surf internet on tv (weather, web ...)
2 - to view and manage on tv my IP camera (2 megapixel Hikvision) with android application from Hikvision.

With the MK808, it works great

Sorry for my english

Most of my previous posts have been about my WiFi problems, but it's mostly sorted now. So my plans are:

a) Not quite got the hang of getting it to see my NAS drive so I can watch my favourite TV series via XBMC but it's an aim.

b) Most of last night's installations were games and emulators so they can be played via the 40" TV. Picking up a cheap PS3 six-axis controller this weekend as some of the emulators work with it and it's a lot easier than trying to click on-screen 'A', 'B', or 'C' buttons whilst controlling the main character via the keyboard :)
Currently running an MK808 with Finless Bob's v1.6 firmware.

I'm not using it at all, it sits in a box because it can NOT display a picture on my LCD TV.

But the original idea was to use it as a XBMC media player streaming content from the home NAS. One month later, not sure was it a good investment.

Hi,

I'm mostly using it to watch French cable tv through canaltouch app (same as netflix) on a second tv screen
I also installed xbmc for its sleezy UI and its scrappers to watch movies an tv shows saved on m'y NAS
I also Play emulators like neogeo etc
Finally, i Play onlive

Actually, i sold m'y xbox360 and PS3 because i wasn't using them anymore...

I use mine as main Home Theater Device, since my old xbox took a nose dive from a static shock, and I switched to using a modded wii, but that had serious issues playing certain file formats. so now I use the mk808 as the primary device for viewing movies and tv shows from my network (which has about 20TB's of data stored) Love the xbmc UI

I'm using it as a web browser and game console for the bedroom. That way my girlfriend won't use my Nexus 7 when she wants to look at Pinterest.

XBMC FTW!!! Even though 1080p isn't smooth, I only have 720p content anyways. 720p works great!
