MK808 Lan to USB ethernet usage

Postby aviperetz » Wed Feb 27, 2013 12:23 pm

Hi,

I am using a lan to USB adapter to connect to the internet via the Ethernet option of the MK808.
Is there an application that can measure the data (traffic) usage?
All application that are on Google play are for Wifi or 3G.

In addition, some application require wifi or 3G. Is there a workaround to use theses applications with Ethernet (i.e. Coolstreaming)

Thx,

Avi Peretz

I use speedtest to test the conection.

First I use WIFI and run the speedtest (> 22mbps)
Turn off WIFI and turn on Ethernet to run the speed test (6.4mbps)

Realise the WIFI is faster than running on the USB to RJ45 ethernet, this could be due to the low quality mini USB to RJ45 device I bought.

Because you bought the wrong usb adapter. Yours is based on RD9700 chipset which is USB1.1 and 10Mbit ethernet and max speed on Android is 6.7 Mbit.

What you need is AX88772 chipset usb adapter (no driver cd, white color)

are there different types of USB Lan devices? I just happened to have one from my wii, plugged it in to try it and it works flawlessly. Now granted buying a "wii" adapter is a tad pricy compared to what can be had online, but still since I had it laying around gathering dust anyways.
