How I solved problem with Wifi drop down

Postby solorajder » Mon Feb 18, 2013 2:02 pm

Hello.
I've had a big problem with Wi Fi drop down on my MK808.

I tried a few things like:

- unsolder the GND from original antena cables and
- disconect both original antenas and connect external antena with and without GND and
- flash to new rom(finles 1.6) and
- change the default channel on router on channel 10

but nothing helped. Wi Fi still drop down.
When I no longer know what to do I take MK808 circuit board from housing and connect it, and from then I have no more problems with Wifi drop down.

About antena gnd conection, I came to the conclusion that it is better if the GND is conected. The signal is increased from 77% to 92%(71dB to 61dB)
I hope this helps to somebody else too.

Hi, your photos show an external antenna, but in your text you only wrote you removed the housing. Is that external antenna needed or not?
Can you also post a photo with the antenna soldering points in case the external antenna is needed? Thx!

Yes, I desolder both original antennas and solder one external antenna(from PC Wi-Fi card).
Without housing works great.

Due to these two flat antennas in MK808/MK808b, you should set the channel around 6, they works poor on channel 9-14.
I'd tested on my tab 10.1 and mobile phone, both worked terrible at channel 10-13, and my new bought mobile phone even don't have channel 12-14! But both of them worked great at channel 6. At channel 13, I placed my tab10.1 on the wifi router, My tab10.1 get -7dbi, but the transfer rate is even worse than 5M away from the router -5x dbi, terrible, it's 2xMb/s from 3xMb/s, If I choose channel 6, place tab10.1 on the router, it's 50Mb/s!
If somebody nearby also use the channel 6, you can.................
simple and destructive. It's all about wifi.
