"Explorer" and "Network places"

Postby Terry » Thu Feb 07, 2013 10:12 am

I'm a bit new to android so please bear with me. I have two desktop computers wired to my wi-fi router whose IP address is 192.168.1.1. When I open "Explorer" on the MK808 and click on "Network Places" one IP address comes up - 192.168.1.2 - but when I click on the address I get a window asking for a username and password. I've tried all those I can think of, as well as ticking the anonymous box, but I can't get any further. What username and password does it want? Any ideas would be welcome.

I think 192.168.X.X usually refers to router administration, but I may be wrong...

try admin/1234 or admin/admin

I've managed to get access to one of my machines - I hadn't set them up as a LAN. Did that and I can now access one of my machins but the other remains illusive - I guess there's a problem with the LAN although I can access files on both machines from the other machine. Thanks

I had that... I typed 'guest' in the user name and left the password blank. Worked just fine (windows 7 pro and linux server with smb/cifs support)

Sent from my MK808 using Tapatalk 2.
