Ubuntu 14.10 Wifi Driver!

Postby deadhp1 » Thu Jan 15, 2015 4:19 am

Found a wifi driver that works for the Meegopad-T01 in Ubuntu 14.10.
You'll need a network connection or download the tar backup)

Code: Select all

mkdir ~/extras

Code: Select all

cd ~/extras

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install git

Code: Select all

git clone https://github.com/hadess/rtl8723as

Code: Select all

cd rtl8723as

Code: Select all

make

Code: Select all

sudo make install

Code: Select all

sudo modprobe r8723bs

Wifi is now up and running!

Since I'm doing a lot of testing, I put the source in a tar file and copied it over to the livecd. Now when I'm testing a fresh install I copy and extract it to compile it.

tar backup of git for offline installation:
meegopad_wifi.tar

Do you have a link to the live CD you run this from? I got a live CD 14.04 but it did not boot even when I put it on a USB flash drive. I had it on a USB DVD drive.

I've made an custom Ubuntu 14.10 livecd with this already installed.

I don't recommend compiling this on Ubuntu 14.04. I ran into some errors, so I stuck with 14.10.

As for booting a normal Ubuntu 14.10 x64 livecd off the flash drive, you need to add bootia32.efi to the boot directory on the livecd.
The main issue with the Intel Z37xx chips is that they have a 32-bit bootloader with a 64-bit processor.

Is this driver stable? I have a Pipo X7 and after some minutes one process of the WLAN driver consumes 100% load of one CPU, WLAN is down and even the system does not shut down any more. No problem with USB stick and rt2800usb driver.

MeeGo Pad To1 drivers

Postby Canondigiphoto » Sun May 03, 2015 11:15 am

Where can I get MeeGo Pad To1 drivers? I reinstalled Windows and my WiFi and USB 2.0 Ethernet not connecting to network. Do anyone have backup of drivers? Thanks.
