HELP ME!!!!!! I TRY TO UPDATE THE NEW FIRMWARE BUT AFTER REBOOTING MY SCREEN FROZE. SO, I DISCONNECT AND OFF AND ON AGAIN. BUT STILL FROZE. SO, PANICKING, I PUSH AGAIN THE RECOVERY BUTTON AND THEN CHOOSE TO RESET TO FACTORY SETTING. IT WIPE OUT ALL THE GK802 EXISTING DATA AND NOW THE SCREEN IS IN BASIC MODE. NOW, I CANNOT USE MY AIR MOUSE TO EXPLORE THE SCREEN AS I USED TOO COZ IT DOES NOT CONNECT ANYMORE WITH MY RC12 KEYBOARD. MAYBE, DURING THE FACTORY RESET, IT WIPE OUT ALL DATA INCLUDING THE AIR MOUSE RIGHT?? SO, PLEASE HELP ME.... ;(

Need some help! I'm trying to run the firmware update. But my rc13 mouse or a wired keyboard will not work in the recovery window. I did find that pushing the reset button I can scroll down but I can't find a way to "select" update image files.

Thank you so much for your job,
anyway yesterday I updated the GK802, and I found several bugs, I would like to tell you about them so you can work on them if you like.

1) Bluetooth:
- on start up it dosn't pair with the previously paired keybord
- after few minutes of good job, it out of the blue disconnects the keybord
2) Keybord:
- italian keybord dosn't recognize special character, and it uses english special character instead
3) Gmail:
- if I scroll down inside the inbox folder, after few rows it restart the app
4) XBMC
- during a film after few minutes it freezes for 4-5 seconds then it restarts
- during the creating of the library it closed several times
5) I don't know how to upgrade Android to 4.1.1 [actually is not a bug, but I would like to know how to do it :P]

So far I think I said everything.
Waiting for update, i wish you all the best, thank you again for the great job.

Checking the external card system file

I then rebooted in to "working android" and the card mounted fine.
the files that were copied on to the disk were also still there.
Ive noticed the SD card slot was a little loose in "working android" where I would have to wiggle it to get it mount.
Is it possible thats what these errors are, a loose sdcard reader?
Or maybe something with the card itself.

Its a 16GB card "long" formatted in FAT32.

Any thoughts appreciated.
So far my only gripe is Netlfix (sideloaded 1.88, and 2.20) is not HD but streaming from PLEX or through Bubble uPNP works great.

Did you get this fixed? I tried the same thing today and got the same problem. I tried update from the extsd card option but it didn't seem to do anything.
I want to get the device rooted so I can change configurations to make my xbox 360 controller work with games but I can't at the moment.
If you managed to solve it can you share? :)

Thanks in advance!

If you recently got the gk802 it already came with the newest firmware in these forums explains how to manually root the stick and apply play store fix that's the route I had to take it couldn't update either the standard way 1.54 is still the latest even though the factory promised us 4.1 back in feb

I got mine last week but need to manually root it, is there a way to do this without using the upgrade image as this does not work for me. If there is any article or tutorial you can point to it would be very much appreciated. I am very much a novice when it comes to linux so the more detailed the better! :)

Thanks for this!

Fortunately I didn't need it, on trying to upgrade using a different MicroSD (a 16Gb this time) there was no problem. :o
