Leave it running or unplug it?

Postby VegasGuy » Wed Nov 28, 2012 7:02 pm

Do you leave your UG802 running or do you unplug it when not using it? I'm in the leave it running camp. Also, is there a another way to power it off without pulling the plug?

i just leave it running. it pulls less power than my pc in sleep mode, so why not?

I should have been clearer on my reason for asking. I agree with your answer cost is not an issue. My main reason for asking about leaving it running or looking for a software power down solution is the risk of file corruption. Pulling the plug does not seem like a 100% harmless method of powering down when needed.

that is true also.

mainly i leave mine on all the time because electronics generally like to stay in a steady state. if they are powered up or in standby, all the circuitry is staying warm and fuzzy. powering on and off regularly causes component degradation. of course by the time you'd see the effect of it, you'd have upgraded due to these things being way obsolete then.

I have the same question, what is better plug or unplug the power supply because it has power off button?
