Boot to SD card first

Postby pelico » Fri Feb 15, 2013 10:01 am

I have successfully flashed finless ROM V1.7 on my UG802 V2 (with the reset button), and I also was able to boot from picuntu RC2.2 on my SD card (using the recovery image). Unfortunately in both cases my internal Wifi was not supported. I finally was able to flash an Android ROM that support my Wifi (clone_ug802_2_stock_rom). It works fine, but I now would like to try the several Linux images that are available for the UG802.

From doing some reading it is my understanding that if I burn a valid Linux image on my SD card, when I power my device, it will first boot from the SD card, and If the SD card doesn't contain a bootable image, it will boot from ROM. In my case it always boot from ROM (Android).

What do I need to do for my device to boot from the SD card before booting from Android?

Forget it. those Linux distribution i wanted to try are for the MK802 not the UG802 (different CPUs). It looks like right now only Picuntu supports the UG802.
