MK809

Postby findroid » Fri Nov 23, 2012 10:43 am

Hi, I have this box myself and I was wondering if it is the same that 808? And if it is not, can anyone make a rom for it?

Here it is a firmware for MK809, but it wasn't uploaded properly & it's only around 5MB so the archive is incomplete. Maybe in the future they will fix it or add other firmware.

It would be nice to have root access and to be able to oc. Also I hate the desktop and launcher. Not able to customize at all (and that is the whole meaning of android, customization)

I am right in assuming that this is the same chipset as the MK808 essentially and that the Finless ROMs should work OK with it?

I'm already kicking myself for not buying the imito mx1 stick as it has bluetooth and 8gb on board.

Am I wrong? Is there a big difference between the MK809 and the MK808 and I'm missing it?

Oh and Hi :D this is my first post as I found you guys from a link on XDA

I have 3 major issues with the MK809, which in most respects works well. These are:

1. Poor compatibility with BBC iPlayer; I have found a partial workaround for this, but it is not as it should be (these spec claims compatibility)
2. Does not recognise a Bluetooth dongle
3. There is no way (at least I have not been able to find a way) of setting it up to use some kind of wireless remote control. I do not want to use a keyboard and mouse.
Any guidance would be much appreciated.
Thanks

just read your problems,
the strangest thing from your problems is that it can not work with wireless remote control?
it's unbelivable.
have you tried to reflash the firmware?

3) Plug in the USB dongle, power on.

Simple as that. It just works.
