How to make a new Android build for RK3066 devices?

Postby Boeboe » Tue Feb 26, 2013 1:07 pm

Hi all,

I have a MK809 and just finished compiling the kernel for it as described in the following post (http://www.armtvtech.com/armtvtechforum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1673).

Now I would like to make a new Android build as described on http://source.android.com/source/building-devices.html. Do I need some device (MK809) specific binaries/sources in my Android source tree?

Anyone has experience making there own Android build? I am targetting for the latest (JDQ39) android-4.2.2_r1 version.

Hi metal,

In the meanwhile I succesfully compiled the latest 4.2.2_r1 release with a 32 bit cross compilation toolchain for ARM. The result is an emulator which works well. I have posted my findings in a small document for others reference, since it is not all that obvious to compile a Jelly Bean release on a Ubuntu 12.04 32 bit OS. ( https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B669SSkGapIhbFpZR0lDNGx4VTQ/edit?usp=sharing )

I did not get the time yet to succesufully merge this with my original dongle firmware. Keep you updated when I did so.

Hi again, Boeboe

Thanks for the reply. Quite an impressive work, you have done in documenting building Android...well done.
I built Android using a 64 bit version of Ubuntu. My next step is to build a patched kernel, and try to run a vanilla build on my MK808B.
