GMYLE Micro Mini USB Wireless B/N/G 802.11n

Postby alwaysbless » Thu Nov 01, 2012 4:01 pm

Hey guys I ordered a few of these a couple days back and they just arrived and they are working wondefully @ 150mbps, anyone who is having issues with the internal wifi might want to consider purchasing one of these inexpensive dongles as an alternative (they only cost $3.49)

Sounds great.

Do you just turn off internal WiFi and plug this in or is there any other configuration to do?

Thanks

Which rom does this work with?

Do you have to replace the rkwifi.ko with rainlakes ko file as it wasn't clear in the instructions?

If someone would confirm then I would be grateful.

Cheers

After spending hours on this last night I can now clarify what you need to do.

The rainlake driver does not work with the Gmyle stick as it needs the RTL8188CUS version. You will find this on about page 8 or 9 of that thread uploaded by a.alekizoglou or something like that. Follow his instructions and it works fine.

Hope this helps

I bought the GMYLE adapter that the original poster had linked to.

I've tried using the rainlake driver and the alternate driver (on page 8), but no luck. I am on the Finless 1.5 rom. Any suggestions on getting this to work?
