1M hits for the PicUntu Web site/Web server

Postby aloksinha2001 » Fri Feb 01, 2013 5:35 am

Friends,

That tiny little thingy, that we all know as PicUntu, just received its 1 Million hits for the month of Jan.

One million hits on this tiny device... and to top it all, the device still runs at less than 20% load.

Just a bit of maths for you.... Excluding the cost of cooling, you save upwards of $30 per month (Assuming server is @ 400W, PicUntu @ 4W [20% load only], and you pay electricity @ 0.10 per KW). In less than 2 months, PicUntu has recovered the cost of server, in electricity expenses alone. !!!

If you have to run 100 servers = You would save upwards of $36,000 per anum.
OR
Roughly around Half a million dollars for about 1500 servers in ONE YEAR !!!

And we have not even talked about the Capex saving (come´on its just $50) , the cooling saving , maintenance and management....

PicUntu IS the logical choice.
