lots of modules and firmwares, and new kernels

2013.01.04:

I made new kernel last night, here it is:

Be carefully and check the warming!

************
2012.12.15:

Many people write me, "Please compile blabla driver for me for my blabla gadget what I'd like to use with mk808."
So, I built scores of drivers and shared for you...

Modules:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/44128030/kizs_modules.tgz

Firmwares (without any modification from git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kern ... rmware.git):
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/44128030/linux_firmwares.tgz

And kernels (it's new, I think faster than previous version):
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/44128030/kizs_kernel_v2_1.5GHz_720.img
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/44128030/kizs_kernel_v2_1.5GHz_1080.img

Use it and be happy.

And a question at last: how can I use my Trust mini BT USB dongle (17772, AR3011 chipset) with android on mk808?
My kernel recognize it, the blue led light, but Android doesn't use it.
I see in log:

AX88772B based USB-RJ45 adapter does not work with the new kernel(1080).

Wow. This V2 kernel is pretty much faster in my opinion than the original which come with finless 1.5a. And wifi working just fine. Good work.

Szia Kizs,

Ezzel a v2 kernellel megoldódott a wifi eldobás probléma?
Vagy ajánlod vmelyik antenna mod-ot?

Szia!

A kernel maga nem oldja meg a wifi gyengeségét, de tapasztalataim szerint az itt ajánlott rk901.txt-vel tényleg egészen jó lesz:
http://armtvtech.com/armtvtechforum/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=212&start=360&sid=ce28fbad99753959cc96d58957cd3a28&sid=709233f8db5726b34c6e81cc9db835c9#p5456

in english:
So, this kernel doesn't solve the wifi problem, but I think the new rk901.txt much better than original. From here:

Pretty happy with it, does not get trough antutu, but videperformance is by far the best yet. But I have lost the possibility to hook it up to a dac via usb. Is this something you would consider patching in?

I also tried a lot of kernels and firmwares here. But i have to say the only configuration that works for me is finless rom 1.5a.

In every other combination i have major problems with lagging and buffering in sopcast. As if the wifi connection drops very often and the buffer goes down.

Wish there was a firmware with 1080ß, stable wifi and no problems with sopcast. I use sopcast 9.0 and i have the v2 hardware layout of mk808.

Are there any news from geekbuying whos sells this product??

I have a MK808 and I can't find info regarding how to change Kernel on a custom rom like finless or others.
I understand kernel has to change if we want to switch from 1080p to 720p screen.

Btw 1080p is very sluggish on MK808, although MX player can play some 1080p mkv files without any problem, it doesn't work good with most of them. Without smooth 1080p mkv playback, 1080p screen mode loses all its incentive.

Today I've flashed the 720p kernel version, but unfortunately I've immediately noticed problem with the USB sound.

I'm using Finless Bob 1.5a ROM and everything worked well before I've tried the new kernel.

The usb device is recognized according to the dmesg, but it is not registered in the GUI (android settings app). If I open the Sound tab and after that sound manager, the only listed sound device is the build-in HDMI one.
Another issue (I assume related) that I've noticed was the issue with selecting the usb mode (Settings -> Storage). Every time I tick some of the options like Mass storage or any other, the tick persist and at the end I have all selected usb modes simultaneously checked!

At the end I had to revert the kernel to the original one.

If you download the Finless rom, inside the zip file you will find everything needed to flash the rom. By default, when you run the flashing app, all parts of the rom are preselected. If you need just to flash the kernel, then you need to unselect all other parts (like boot.img, recovery.img, etc) and leave only the kernel's tick. Of course you have to change the path to your kernel image. Be aware, that every image (boot, kernel, recovery...etc) has offset and maximum size, so you have to be sure (in your particular case) that the kernel image is not longer the maximum, otherwise it will overwrite the next image in the chain.

After flashing Finless 1.5A using RKAndroidTool, everything was easy.
Now I can also run Ubuntu 0.3 on it. Finless 1.5A is very smooth on 720p aswell.

Hi KIZS, thx for the kernels but I wanted to ask if you could add Camera support to the kernel. The standard ones run my Logitech C270 without any problems.

Thanks :)
